The Minnesota Jazz Orchestra offers personalized and tailored performances to complement your event vision. Our band is comprised of 16 musicians and a vocalist. We traditionally dress black-tie or swing attire.
Music
We have over 1700 tunes in our library, spanning the decades. From Miller and Dorsey in the 30’s, 40’s, to the Rat Pack charts in the 50's and 60's, along with a number of popular ‘90’s swing tunes. Our music includes Swing (West Coast, East Coast, Lindy), Latin (Samba, Cha-Cha, Bosa Nova), Blues Swing, Ballads, and even some Polkas. Choose a style to match your event or a variety of musical arrangements.
Timing
Our standard performance is three hours long consisting of three 45-minute sets with two 15-minute breaks.
Add-on Options
We offer add-on instrumentation options to complement each segment of your event.
- Social or Cocktail Hour
- Wedding Service
- Dinner Reception
- Social, Wedding or Swing Dancing
Instrumentation options include piano, vocals, ceremonial trumpets, jazz combo, trio, quartet, quintet, chamber orchestra or full big band.
Additional time can be added for an additional fee.
Staging
Our 16-piece band set-up takes up floor space of 24'x16'. Our chamber orchestra and other combinations will take up less space. Over our 25+ years, we've been able to adjust to some areas that are not quite that size. Reach out if you have a venue in mind, as we may have played there before, and can advise if the space worked for us!
Booking
Contact us with questions and event inquiries! We are happy to pencil your date into our calendar which gives you the “first right of refusal” should we be contacted by another party for the same date. A 10% deposit is required with your signed contract to completely secure the date. The remaining balance is due on the date of your event. Please contact us for pricing.
